Statement of Faith:
Articles Of Faith:
"Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that there is but one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons –Father, Son, and Holy Ghost - co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfection.” (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 10:30, 14:16, 26; II Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 5:7)
This Confession of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The King James Authorized Version itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe. We do believe, however, that the foregoing Confession of Faith accurately represents the teaching of Gods Holy Word, and therefore, is binding upon all members.
- THE BIBLE – THE OLD AND THE NEW TESTAMENT SCRIPTURES
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes the Scriptures of the Old and the New Testaments are verbally inspired of God in the originals and that the Scriptures are preserved, inerrant, available, and complete only in the 1611 King James Authorized Version, these Scriptures being the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice.” (Psalm 12:6-7; Matthew 5:18; I Thessalonians 5:21; II Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Revelation 22:18-19) - THE GODHEAD
- THE PERSON AND WORK OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes in the absolute Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth; His perfect humanity "was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin"; His vicarious death through the shedding of his blood for the forgiveness of sins; His bodily resurrection and ascension; His present high priestly ministry. We believe in the imminence of His literal personal, pre-tribulation and pre-millennial return for His church.”
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes in the subsequent return of the Lord Jesus Christ to Earth, with His saints, to establish His millennial kingdom.” (Isaiah 9:6-7, 53:4-6; Matthew 1:23, 28:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 12, 14; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 3:24-25, 8:34; I Corinthians 15:3-4, 17; Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:1-29; I Thessalonians 4:13-17; I Timothy 2:5; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:1-3, 8, 4:14-15 , 7:22-28, 9:24-28; I Peter 1:3-5, 2:21-24; 1 John 2:1-2) - THE PERSON AND WORK OF SATAN
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that Satan is a person. He is the author of sin and the cause of the fall; the enemy of God and man, whose destruction is foretold, and whose destination is the Lake of Fire. Satan is the accuser of the brethren and believers are instructed to resist him.” (Job1:6-7; Isaiah 14:12-17; Matthew 4:1-11, 25:41; James 4:7, I Peter 5:8-9; Revelation 12:9-10, 20:10) - THE TOTAL DEPRAVITY OF MAN
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that, through Adam’s sin, the race subsequently fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. We believe that man is totally depraved, and of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. We believe in the necessity of the new birth through The Lord Jesus Christ.” (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:10, 22-23, 5:12-21; Ephesians 2:1-3, 12-13) - SALVATION
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that salvation of sinners is wholly of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by virtue of His precious blood being shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of the sins of the world. We believe that neither baptism, the Lord's supper, nor any other rite, ceremony, or work can avail one whit for the sinner's salvation. The Lord Jesus Christ alone saves.” (Isaiah 64:5-7; Luke 13:3; John 1:12, 29, 3:16-18, 14:6; Ephesians 1:7, 2:1-19; I Peter 1:18-19) - ETERNAL SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes the born-again believer regenerated by the grace of God is kept by God’s power and is secure in the Lord Jesus Christ forever.” (John 6:37-40, 10:24-30; Romans 8:1, 38-39; Ephesians 1:13, 4:30; I Peter 1:5; I Corinthians 1:4-8) - THE TWO NATURES OF THE BELIEVER
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that every born-again believer has two natures, and that God has provided for victory of the new nature over the old through the power of the indwelling Holy Ghost and that all claims to the eradication of the old nature in this life are unscriptural.” (Romans 6:12-14, 7:13-25, 8:8-17; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 4:22-24; Colossians 3:10; I Peter 1:14-16; I John 3:4-9, Jude 1:24) - SEPARATION
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that all the saved should strive to live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Lord and Savior, and that separation from all religious apostasy, and from worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations is commanded of God. We believe that every human being has direct relations with God and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith.” (Romans 12:1-2, 14:10-12; II Corinthians 6:14, 7:1; II Timothy 3:1-14; I John 2:15-17; II John 1:7-11) - THE CHURCH
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that the invisible Church, or Body of Christ, includes all regenerated persons to the second coming of The Lord Jesus Christ, and that her supreme mission is her world-wide commission as set forth by Christ and His apostles.” (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 5:42, 20:28; I Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:4-6, 20-23, 5:25-27) - THE LOCAL CHURCH
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that the establishment of the local Church is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures.” (Acts 14:27, 20:17; I Timothy 3:1-16; Titus 1:5-11) - RESURRECTION (ETERNAL STATE)
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes in the literal bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to judgment and eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment.” (Matthew 25:46; John 5:28-29, 11:25-26; Romans 8:11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:5-6, 12-13)
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that the souls of the redeemed are, at death absent from the body and present with the Lord, where in conscious bliss they await the first resurrection. When spirit, soul, and body are reunited to appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ after which we will be glorified forever with the Lord.” (Luke 23:43; John 3:16; II Corinthians 5:8-10; Philippians 1:23, 3:20-21; I Thessalonians 4:16-17; I Peter 1:7-9; Revelation 20:4-6, 21:1-7)
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that the souls of unbelievers remain after death, in conscious misery in Hell until the second resurrection, when, with soul and body reunited, they shall appear at the Great White Throne Judgment, and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated, but to suffer everlasting conscious punishment.” (Matthew 13:41-42, 49-50, 25:41-46; Mark 9:43-48; Luke 16:19-26; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Jude 1:6-7; Revelation 14:11, 20:11-15) - ORDER OF MARRIAGE AND HUMAN SEXUALITY
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex. Any employee of the church becoming pregnant or causing pregnancy as a result of consensual intercourse, outside of the marriage relationship, shall be terminated from employment.” (Genesis 2:24, 19:1-25, 26:6-11; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:21-32; 1 Corinthians 5:1, 6:9, 16; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4)
“Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. We believe that homosexuality is an abomination in Gods eye. (Genesis 2:24; Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:26, 27, 7:2; Ephesians 5:22-33)
“Charity Independent Baptist Church supports the definition of Marriage as outlined in the Marshall Newman Amendment (also known as the Virginia Marriage Amendment) ratified by the voters of Virginia on November 7 2006 which states: Only a union between one man and one woman may be a marriage valid in or recognized by this commonwealth and its political subdivisions shall not create or recognize a legal status for relationships of unmarried individuals that intends to approximate the design, qualities, significance, or effects of marriage. Nor shall this commonwealth or its political subdivisions create or recognize another union, partnership, or other legal status to which is assigned the rights, benefits, obligations, qualities, or effects of marriage. We also support Virginia Code, Title 20, Chapter 3 20-45.2 Marriage between persons of same sex, which says that "A marriage between persons of the same sex is prohibited. Any marriage entered into by persons of the same sex in another state or jurisdiction shall be void in all respects in Virginia and any contractual rights created by such marriage shall be void and unenforceable." “We believe that men and women are spiritually equal in position before God but that God has ordained distinct and separate spiritual functions for men and women in the home and the church. The husband is to be the leader of the home and men are to be the leaders (Pastors, Deacons, and Trustees) of the church. Accordingly, only men are eligible for licensure, ordination, or to be elected as a trustee by the church. (Galatians 3:28; Colossians 3:18; 1 Timothy 2:8-15, 3:1-13; Titus 1:6) - ABORTION
"Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life. Abortion is murder. We reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or population control, or the mental well-being of the mother are acceptable." (Job 3:16; Psalm 51:5, 139:14-16; Isaiah 44:24, 49:1,5; Jeremiah 1:5; Luke 1:44) - CREATION
"Charity Independent Baptist Church believes that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution as unscriptural theories of origin." (Genesis 1-2; Exodus 20:11)
